Running for a Cause: Support Casa Hogar Maty, a Home for the Elderly

I started running in 2014, (previously I didn’t run even a single kilometer haha) From that moment on, it became a personal, sport and growth activity for everything it implies.

I love running for everything that it brings out in me, time, space, emotions, goals, satisfaction, challenges, etc.

I live in the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico and most of the time I decide to do some race or marathon (as is the case here) I try to do it with a cause. What is the reason? To combine something that I really love to do with the opportunity to help people who are in a situation of vulnerability.

On this occasion, I have decided to help “Casa Hogar Maty” where more than 60 elderly people live in this place and through a group of people dedicated to them they strive to make each day not only an opportunity to continue living (giving them medicines and food) but also a pleasant place to spend the rest of their lives.

For more than 8 years they have been supported in different ways, mainly at Christmas and in other months of the year with groceries, however, the daily expenses to keep this space afloat are very high.

That is why I have decided that my marathon on September 24, 2023 (which is of great importance and emotion for me since I have waited for the entry and this moment for 4 years), not only be satisfying by crossing the long-awaited goal of 42.195 km, but also result in each of the people who live in this place being able to continue having their medicines, food, clothing, and everything necessary to live.
