A ray of hope for Luciana’s vision

Luciana Navarro Ortiz is my 6-year-old niece, who dreams of seeing the world with her own eyes. She was born with optic nerve hypoplasia (ONH), a congenital anomaly that affects the development of one or both optic nerves and prevents her from seeing typically. ONH is a major cause of visual loss in children and has no definitive cure.

Since she was born, Luciana has had to face many challenges and difficulties, but she has also shown great strength and joy. With the help of her family and various treatments, therapies, and medical consultations, Luciana has been able to advance in some aspects of her vision and development. However, we know that there are more possibilities to improve her quality of life and future.

That’s why we have found in Ecuador an innovative treatment that could help regenerate and mature the damaged structures of her eyes. It is cellular regenerative therapy, a technique that uses micro and nanotechnology to replace the affected cells with new cells. This therapy is based on proteomic principles and uses enzymes, proteins, hormones, and cellular inducers.

Cellular regenerative therapy is performed by Dr. Iván Merchán, a specialist in ophthalmology and regenerative medicine who has successfully treated many patients with ONH and other eye diseases. The treatment consists of 3 to 5 sessions of 3 hours each, with an interval of one month between sessions. The cost of each session is $3000.

Our goal is to raise the money necessary for Luciana to access this treatment and have the opportunity to improve her vision.
