My Daughter Needs Me-Seeking Support for My Medical Journey

I underwent a sleeve surgery to address my diabetes, but unfortunately, it resulted in complications such as an abdominal haematoma. 

Due to poor management of my condition, including a failure to monitor my post-operative recovery adequately, I was prematurely discharged from the hospital. This led to a severe and painful experience that impacted not only my health but also my family.

I spent a month alone in the hospital, undergoing numerous tests and procedures, isolated from my 4-year-old daughter. This aims to shed light on my journey, express the emotional toll it has taken, and humbly request assistance in raising funds to fight for my case.

*Inadequate Post-operative Care:

 -The hospital failed to properly manage my liver injury, resulting in a large sub-hepatic haematoma.    -Premature discharge from the hospital without adequate monitoring aggravated my condition.

-Improper removal of the drain before my discharge contributed to the retention of the haematoma.

*Delayed Emergency Operation:    -Despite notifying the hospital and my doctor of my worsening condition, it took few weeks for them to admit me and schedule an emergency operation.

 -During this time, the pain and suffering continued, adding to the distress experienced by my husband and daughter.

*Prolonged Hospital Stay:    -Throughout my month-long hospitalization, I underwent daily procedures such as angio liver, MRCP, MRI, CT-scan, and X-ray.

-Isolated in the hospital's ward, I battled high fever, severe pain, and the emotional toll of being away from my daughter.    -The hospital eventually confirmed that the haematoma was caused by a stapler from the initial operation, but the delay in reaching this conclusion was disheartening.

*Complications and Mental Health Challenges:    -Discharged with an intra-abdominal collection and tubo-ovarian abscess, my condition remained critical even after leaving the hospital.    -Seeking further medical assistance, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, anxiety, and panic attacks.    -The emotional collapse resulting from this diagnosis worsened my depression, necessitating multiple antidepressants to help me sleep.

*Fertility Challenges and Financial Struggles:    

-Further medical evaluations revealed damage to both of my fallopian tubes and toxic drainage in my pelvic area. 

-It was determined that natural conception is no longer possible, leaving expensive IVF as the only option, which is financially unattainable for my family.    -The weight of this news, combined with the ongoing trauma, has had a profound impact on my emotional well-being.

My husband, daughter, and I have endured a traumatic incident that will forever be etched in our memories. The physical and emotional toll of my medical journey has been overwhelming, leaving me in need of support.
