Let’s support Urbano Iriarte, a grandfather who lost his leg due to a vascular disease

Hello, I’m Marielena Silveira and I want to tell you the story of Urbano Iriarte, a 77-year-old grandfather who needs our help. Urbano, or El Gordo as we affectionately call him, is a humble and hard-working man who lives with his wife in Venezuela. A few weeks ago, he began to feel severe pain in his right leg and his toes turned dark. We took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with a serious disease that affects the arteries and blood flow. The only solution was to amputate his leg above the knee.

On July 15, Urbano underwent surgery, and thank God he came out alive, although he had some complications. He is now recovering at the Periférico de Pariata Hospital, but he needs a lot of care and medication that are very expensive in our country. He will also require a wheelchair, crutches, prostheses, and a special diet to improve his health.

Urbano and his wife do not have enough resources to cover all these expenses, as they only have a pension of $5 per month. That’s why I ask you to help us with whatever you can, any contribution will be appreciated. With your collaboration, we will be able to give Urbano a better quality of life and hope for the future.
