Help me save my family from cancer and debt

Hello everyone,

My name is Lorena Robayo, a 38-year-old Ecuadorian woman, a math and physics teacher who has been unemployed since 2020 when the Ministry of Education fired me despite knowing my condition. I’m divorced and I have two children who live with me.

I want to tell you why I dare to enter this page and ask for your help because I have no other way to save my family.

Six years ago, I was diagnosed with a tumor in my right ovary. As I worked for the Ministry, all the expenses were covered by my insurance. After that, I thought everything was gone, that’s what they told me. But four years ago, through occupational medicine, they did the tests again and it turned out that I already had cancer in both ovaries grade 2.

From that moment on, I fought and with all the due documents I informed the Ministry that I had a catastrophic disease and even so, on August 31, 2020, violating my rights, they dismissed me.

And my ordeal began. I was left without a job, without insurance, and without money, since the Ministry did not compensate me. And with all the worry, the disease accelerated. Since then it has been very hard for me. My eldest son is the one who has taken control of my house and my family has helped me as much as they could with medicines. Three years of ordeal have passed, of false illusions of seeing that I no longer have friends or acquaintances or anyone who when you need them there is no one. Fifteen days ago, the area of ​​my tumors hurt a lot and as I could no longer buy medicines from so much pain I had a pre-infarction. I spent two weeks hospitalized. My family’s economy has run out and they have not been able to help me anymore. Starting to generate debts, I borrowed from banks, acquaintances, and people who lend money at high-interest rates, hoping I was already in remission and could pay. When I had the pre-infarction they told me that they regret to tell me that chemotherapy does not do anything anymore and that I better talk to my doctor. Thank God I got out of the pre-infarction and came home. Two days later they called me from the hospital and I went to see them.

The news was not good “I have grade 4 cancer with metastasis” and unfortunately it came back and more aggressive there are no medicines or treatments that can take it away from me or have a hope of cure. I already have to take morphine for the pain.

I come to this page to ask you to beg you for your help. As the title says, I want to save my family. The money asked of people with high interest just came to tell me that if I don’t pay even if I die they are going to charge my children 😭😭😭😭 they are not guilty of anything. I want to settle those debts and the little time they gave me in life (6 months) and when it is time for me to leave they do not stay with problems. I feel that it is enough what they have gone through and when I leave they will go through. They have to stay alone 😭😭😭😭. I think it’s too much.

Today I appeal to your noble heart. It is a debt that I made to do chemotherapy thinking that I was going to heal and I was going to be able to generate money and pay. Help me leave them without more burdens than they have had and have gone through during this time. Help me to be able to go in peace and that their lives are not in danger since they told me that.
