Dignified breakfasts for people in street situations

We are a group of friends who dedicate ourselves to collecting supplies and preparing dignified breakfasts for people in street situations or who are going through a difficult economic situation. Our goal is to provide them with some relief and hope, as well as support them in the search for work and personal development opportunities.

Our motivation comes from the personal experience of one of our members, Osiel Rangel, who experienced first-hand the lack of help and solidarity when he moved to another city and suffered an attempted kidnapping. Osiel, along with Carlos Hernández, are in charge of coordinating this project, in which three other friends also participate. Osiel has a degree in psychology and knows that these small gestures can make a big difference in people’s lives.

Our solution consists of not only offering food but also accompaniment and guidance. When possible, we support small pantries that do not involve spending electricity or gas. In addition, we look for “angels” who can provide some type of fixed work to the people we have located who are in a condition to work. We know that this last step is more difficult since the main brake is the employer’s trust.

We believe that our project can make a difference for us and for others, as it allows us to create a more supportive and empathetic community. It may not have a great impact, but we are sure that if someone observes the action they will want to join, or if one of the beneficiaries prospers, they will surely support us.

At the moment, out of respect for the dignity of the people involved, we do not have any examples or stories to share. However, we hope to do so soon, when we see the fruits of our work.

To use the funds and complete our project, we plan to buy more supplies and utensils to prepare dignified breakfasts. We also want to acquire some personal hygiene items and clothing to donate to those who need it. Our timeline is to continue with this work at least until the end of the year, and if possible, expand it to other areas or cities.
