Share Love, Make Elderly People Happy in Nursing Homes

Teras Baik is a social community founded in Indonesia which operates in the social and youth sector. A movement that pays attention to the social conditions or environment of society.

Not a few of the elderly are entrusted by their families to nursing homes because they are unable to care for and take care of them. There are also elderly people who are deliberately placed in a nursing home because they no longer have any family at all.

But you can imagine how sad their fate would be if they were placed in a nursing home in poorly maintained conditions.

Elderly people in nursing homes have various needs that must be met. These needs include physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.

Physical needs are related to the health and comfort of the body. The elderly need nutritious food, clean water, decent clothes, comfortable beds, medicines and medical care. However, not all needs can be met due to lack of funds.

Psychological needs are related to mental and emotional well-being. The elderly need appreciation, recognition, self-confidence and happiness. They also need intellectual stimulation, hobbies and fun activities. They also need help dealing with stress, loneliness, depression and trauma.

Social needs are those related to interpersonal relationships and communication. The elderly need love, attention, support and understanding from family, friends and society. They also need positive social interaction, participation and contribution.

Good friends, the elderly in this orphanage also have the right to feel happiness even without family.Would you like to share a little with them?
