I need financial help for my son who had a Spine Surgery

Hello everyone,

I am Annalynn Maaghop, 53 years old and residing in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. With this posting, I would like to appeal to your generous hearts and humanitarian sensibilities and request your assistance, support, prayers, and other ways you could help. My son, Elpi Kristian Maaghop, 31 years old, was diagnosed with “Spinal Cord Compression T3-T4, considered as Pott’s Disease; ruling out Metastasis”. This disease has caused weakness and numbness in his lower extremities and might result to total paralysis if surgery is not done as soon as possible. As a matter of urgency due to his delicate medical condition, we were unable to transfer him to a government hospital. He therefore went through Spine surgery last week at The Medical City of South Luzon as advised by his attending physician and neurologist. My son was formerly employed at a private company in Makati City as a graphic artist, however, the company lost a lot of investors and clients and had to decrease the number of employees. As one of the unfortunate employees his contract was terminated so he is now unemployed. I am also currently working as a freelancer and we rely on what I am earning. Hence, we have no means of paying for the surgery performed and the hospital bills. We are already trying to ask for financial help from some government officials. However, we are getting some negative responses since their DOH-related funds (in the form of guarantee letters) are allotted for government hospitals only. Our current running hospital bill as of 29th of November is already PHP325,741.78 (not including the professional fees of the Surgical Team with an estimated cost of not less than PHP250,000 and the cost of the spinal implants with the amount of PHP170,000). We are hoping to receive any amount you can happily share, which will be most appreciated and will already be a great help. We are also asking for your prayers for his quick recovery and for peace and comfort for our family during these trying times.
