Support My Mom’s journey After a Car Theft

Hello, dear friends.

I'm Fergie Valeria Acevedo Cerdas from Costa Rica, and it's with a heavy heart that I reach out to you on this platform seeking your support.

Last weekend brought a bittersweet surprise as my mom, Trinidad Cerdas Duarte, and her husband visited me to celebrate my birthday on Sunday, November 19. They traveled in a borrowed car from her best friend, aiming to make the journey smoother and arrive early.

We shared a beautiful family lunch at 12:30 pm, a rare occasion given the distance that separates us, since they lived in the northern part of the country. However, the joy of our reunion was short-lived. We arrived at my house, and my husband and I helped them to settled in, while they went for a walk with my doggie. When they returned home around 3:00 pm, they rest a couple of hours, later we went out for dinner at 5:30 PM and we got back home at 6:30 PM, when I noticed the car was not parked in front of my house, so unfortunately we discovered the car was nowhere to be found.In the face of this distressing situation, we immediately contacted the authorities, filed a report, and sought help from our neighbors, collecting valuable evidence, including license plates videos, to aid in the ongoing investigation. Despite the setback, we are grateful that both my mom and her husband are safe. My mom, a stylist, and her husband, a barber, run their own business. Unfortunately, they are now burdened with an unexpected financial strain. Seeking a loan in Costa Rica, especially for business owners, poses significant challenges. We're turning to you, our family, friends and colleagues, for support. If you are able and willing to contribute financially, we genuinely appreciate your assistance. Our goal is to gather funds by mid-December, serving as a down payment to purchase a replacement car. This would enable them to continue with monthly payments through financing. In an ideal scenario, surpassing our target with the help of family and friends could allow us to purchase a vehicle outright, providing even more stability for my mom and her husband. These days have been tough for my mom, overshadowing what was supposed to be a joyous celebration of my birthday. The wheels of justice can turn slowly in our country this means their efforts can take months to resolve the case and we hope to alleviate her stress and anxiety of provide a replacement car or the total amount of the stolen car to her friend through your support.
