For The Love Of His Only Family, The Animals

Hello everyone,

When you have nothing but you want to give the chance to strays that you yourself can't get . . . That's Kuya Dencio.

He makes his living out of collecting trash and selling what he can to turn into cash. Despite of his limited capacity, he rescues animals that are being discarded as garbage - a heartbreaking reality in most third world countries like the Philippines.

Kuya Dencio is a man of dignity who opts to work rather than beg for money from people or organizations. He treats every rescue as his family, not thinking about the cost or the hassle but more on making it work with what he has at the moment. His big heart somehow made it work for him and his rescues. That mobile zoo is his family and we would like to make his life a little better without uprooting him from his everyday routine. Eventually, we can arrange for a more permanent set up where he can make a living without compromising the safety of his rescues in the very busy streets of Manila.

After 2 years, his makeshift home, a wooden pushcart, has started to deteriorate along with his ever growing family of rescues. In our interview with Kuya Dencio last February 9, 2024, he had a total of 10 dogs, 6 cats, 3 doves and 2 chicken.

His immediate needs are:

1. A new and bigger wooden pushcart with better wheels and provisions for huge umbrellas or a tarpauline that could be draped over a wooden frame to form a tent.

2. Veterinary assistance for his rescues. Some are starting to have sores and mange. They need to be vaccinated and properly maintained with regular check ups.

3. Leashes and Collars. He's only using packaging twine to secure all of his rescues.

Our goal is to keep them together as one family unit. Please help us help Kuya Dencio.
