Volkswagen Transporter travel restoration

Hello, my name is Vladimir. I am 24 years old. I am an engineer by diploma, I work as a mechanic. I live in Ukraine.

Since childhood, I began to get involved in hiking, traveling around the country, mountains and so on. At 18, I discovered the delights of hitchhiking. Very often you had to wait a long time on the sidelines before they pick you up. And I thought it would be cool if someone purposefully drove specifically for the stoppers.

So, now I have a dream to buy and restore Volkswagen Transporter 1 or 2, equip it with everything necessary for long trips, travel around the country, pick up hitchhikers (if possible, feed them), take them as close to their destination as possible. And I would also like to go around as many countries as possible on this van, and I especially want to get to Norway on it.

Now it is very difficult to find and buy t1, and even more it’s very expensive. If you or your friends know where you can buy it inexpensively, at least a body with documents, I will be very grateful for the information. But recently, I found an ad selling t2 for $ 900. For sale, it’s better to say that it’s a body for restoration, little has left in it except the body.

$1500 is certainly not enough for a complete restoration, but at least I can buy a body and start with something. I will slowly report my money on spare parts and I will install and repair everything by myself.

I don’t know how long this project will be active, but I hope it will last until I collect the necessary amount.
