8 month old Chebol's Surgery

Hey everyone,

My name is Iqbal, 31 years old technician from Singapore.

Our 8 months old kitten named Chebol hasn't been eating or drinking for the past 3 days. He seemed lethargic, not his usual ever curious and mischievous self. Something feels very off.

An object obstructing Chebol's intestines.

Chebol is our only furry curious cat, he especially dotes on my wife. Wherever she goes? Chebol is there. I'd like to call him, my wife's personal bodyguard.

We went to the vet today to have him checked. After the X-ray was done, we found out that there's an object obstructing his intestines. There might be something lodged in his intestines. The veterinarian suggested to go for ultrasound for further detailed examination, and undergo a surgery to have the foreign object taken out.

His surgery would cost $5000 minimum for it to be done.

After an ultrasound examination, we were informed that it was not an object that lodged in his intestines. In fact he has what its called intestinal intussception.

Intestinal intussception is a serious condition in which part of the intestine slides into an adjacent part of the intestine. This "telescoping" often blocks food or fluid from passing through. Intussusception also cuts off the blood supply to the part of the intestine that's affected, which can lead to a tear in the bowel (perforation), infection and death of bowel tissue.

This could explain why Chebol was not eating or defecating. He has not defecate for almost four days.
