Helping the World Literacy Foundation to fight illiteracy

Hello everyone,

Over 750 million people are illiterate. Illiteracy is a serious problem in the world today and needs to be addressed because it leads to poverty. This problem is highly prevalent in rural communities in Africa. We have young children of school going age who do not have access to books and as a result have never read in their lives.

Hope Builders is a group of 29 young individuals from different countries in the world who have seen the seriousness of illiteracy in our various societies and have decided to help the World Literacy Foundation in their mandate to fight illiteracy.

As part of our commitment as youth ambassadors to the World Literacy Foundation, it’s is goal to raise an amount of $500 to help the foundation to continually fund their projects in Africa, Latin Americas, Australia, United Kingdom and United States. Through the World Literacy Foundation, many children who had no chance of ever getting a book to read have. Adults who have never read in their lifetime have been encouraged to read to make an impact in their lives and the people around them. This is what Hope Builders seek to support. This project has a time frame from August to 1st September, 2023.
