I want to build a reading house!

Nice to meet you! My name is Elizabeth Petra Sembiring. I come from Indonesia and I currently I'm living in Medan!

I love reading and my dream is to build a reading house for my community!

A village without library

I'm studying in University.

I live in Medan because my college is there but during weekends I always go to my hometown, Kabanjahe.

In my village there used to be a library, but it turned into a shelter a while ago.

We're living in the digital era. Mostly people use electronic devices to read nowadays, but not in my village. As they haven't a proper device to read, and the library disappear, they can't actually read books! That's why I want to make a reading house.

I lend my own books

When I can I try to lend my own books to the children and young people of my community.

I think that reading is necessary for children to grow mentally. By reading a book, you can acquire plenty of knowledge!

That's why we need a library in our village too!

It will be like a reading club

I just have a few books.

I would like to purchase many books and prepare a space to let the people of my village read them when they want.

I will prepare a space to relax while reading books, and everyone will be able to use it!

It's not only a library, I want make children to read books and talk about them, like in a club.

Details on needed funds

To start, I would need the funds to prepare the space for the library and purchase books. I would appreciate if you can help me to raise $900!

Schedule

If I get enough funds, I will start preparing a store my parents have in our house, and I will purchase the books and necessary furniture.

If I can't collect enough funds, I will have to wait until I graduate, find a job and save enough money to make this dream come true.
