PHOTO JOURNALISM book should continue, let's keep the memory.

Esfotojournalism is a documentary photography festival, which for fifteen years has contributed to the grouping of images from Central America to be able to tell from different points of view the social, political, socio-environmental changes, the joys, and sorrows that Central America has faced.

His books are objects of art that have allowed the visual memory of the region not to be forgotten.

Due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the production of the book has become a challenge, due to the high investment that printing it represents. That is why this year Esfotojournalism needs your solidarity collaboration to make the book a reality.

Why do we need donations?

Producing a documentary photography book, which contains images that transgress the economic and political powers of the region, has very little opportunity to find state and corporate sponsorships.

What is the cause of the problem?

The book has come mainly from the support of a Photocafe micro-business that donated part of its profits annually to subsidize books. This year, due to the crisis caused by COVID-19, it is limited to being able to give its support, since in El Salvador the coffee shops were closed for more than 5 months and it has just begun to open its doors, which has not generated any profit.

When do we need donations?

The festival opens virtually on October 27 "Day of the Photographer and photographer of El Salvador we need on October 2 to have the funds to produce the book.

What will we use the funds raised for?

To pay the costs of printing and book design.

How will we use the funds raised?

80% is destined to the payment of the printing

20% for the design.

We know that we are going through a great global crisis and that resources today are very limited, but we cannot leave new generations without visual memory. Our wish is to be able to continue counting with images of the reality of the Central American region.
