Humanitarian project Vulnerable families - Apartadó Colombia

Our purpose is to help 100 vulnerable families composed of an average of 5 members, for a total of support to 500 people (in condition of disability, orphaned children, older adults, poverty and extreme poverty); who are part of indigenous communities, Afro-Colombian communities, peasants and victims of the armed conflict. All of them are located in the municipality of Apartadó, department of Antioquia, Colombia. 

Our region has been historically violated by armed groups, causing displacements, disappearances and a number of scourges that have notably deteriorated the quality of life of the population.

Currently, Apartadó is one of the municipalities with the highest number of COVID-19 infections in Colombia, and Urabá has also become the new focus of infection at the national level, with worrying figures that require the extension of the compulsory isolation. This confinement has prevented the most vulnerable families from continuing with their economic activities, which are the daily sustenance of all the families identified, living at this time in scarcity of food, clothing, disinfectants, biosecurity kits and other basic needs required by a family; hitting again their quality of life.

The project mentioned has a duration of 2 months, to comply with the delivery of the aid. The goal to be able to make this humanitarian aid a reality is valued at $8,895 dollars which will include the logistics for the delivery of the aid packages to 100 families.
