Let's save Tango

Hello everyone

We are Zoraida Fontclara and Diego Alvaro and we are requesting your help so that our activity in teaching and making tango familiar is not lost.

About the El Abrazo Tango Club

27 years ago we started a project called El Abrazo Tango Club, with the aim of wide-spreading the magnificent dance that is tango.

Along with teaching, we started a tango dance in one morning of 1996. So, it was on March 8 of 1996 that we started the dancing meetings. At first, the meeting was in the "Confitería Ideal" for 20 years and then in the "El Beso" for four years. Those are mythical places of tango in the heart of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Republic Argentina.

The moving benefit of dancing

It is known, from medical studies, the benefits that tango dance has, at a physical and neurological level. And at this particular time, when most of the people attending are older people, they do benefit from the dance, the sense of attachment to the place and the socialization events. The place is also often chosen for a meeting by other "tangueros" from abroad to share with the locals this heartfelt embrace of tango.

Help us sustain El Abrazo Tango Club during COVID-19

In other organization besides us, people could go to work. But due to the quarantine, which has been going on for four months, our place for classes and dancing is closed, as well as all activities related to teaching and tango dancing. So our only source of income is suspended.

Your help will make us able to continue our project in times of COVID-19 pandemic. All financial support will be used to maintain our activity until the pandemic is overcome.

We deeply appreciate all supports we received, hoping that this bad moment will end as soon as possible.
