Glow-Literature Providing Books to Ugandan Children.

I am Caleb Ndishakiye Niringiyimana, a teacher by profession, director of a literacy nonprofit called Glow-Literature.

Growing up in Uganda and later working as an educator has exposed me to so little interest in reading and literacy both by individual students and educators.

I always found it had to meet a person of similar passion, so I set off to making more readers among students and teachers, therefore the birth of Glow-Literature. Glow-Literature runs school and community literacy initiatives aimed at improving the literacy rate and the love for reading in Uganda.

Pre-Covid-19, children had limited access to books and an education that enabled them grow into able readers. That is the gap we exist to fill. In addition, Covid-19 has worsened the already  limited access to books given the closure of schools and libraries.

Our team is still dedicated to establishing home based micro-libraries which will be owned by each child in a household.

Up to a tune of 3000 books have been given to the cause by BookSmiles.org (NJ) and this fund is aimed at shipping this generous gift to Uganda so children on owning books will each confess "I'm a reader."

The beauty with this project is, it will run post Covid. 

We surely need a couple thousand dollars to pull this off and together, we're sure value will be delivered at the kid's doors.
