Help Refugees stay safe from Scorpions

Hello everyone,

We're a group of young refugees living in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya.

The Scorpion Control Project

We have initiated the Scorpion Control Project and Research Center within the camp.

The problem is that the camp is located in semi-desert area whereby dangerous animals from different species live in. Among those animals we can cite snakes, Spiders, Scorpions, Centipeds, etc.

The threat of Scorpion' sting

Scorpion' sting is ranked second threat after malaria in the Camp.

The Scorpion Control Project and Research Center is a response to stings. The project has taken great initiatives to helping everyone be have a safe environment. It has conducted important research that brought to light the Scorpion species found in the Camp and its surrounding areas.

We have made a catolog of Scorpions of kakuma, a cartoon( to be used as public posters), and a flyer that contains basic information about keeping safety while living with these dangerous animals.

Please help refugees stay safe from Scorpions

First, we need that amount of money first of all to enable us conduct a massive awareness campaign.

Secondly, it is to enable us print as many copies as we can of all the three documents mentioned above that could enable us reach out to the 165,000 inhabitants.

Thirdly, we would like to have a small room built with Irion sheets that will be used to keeping the samples of Scorpions that are being monitored.

Lastly, that money will help us get some tools such as ultraviolet torches for staff, some plastic enclosures, and some books.
