Fundación Casa Hogar Andrea: help us to continue welcoming and supporting children with cancer

We have decided to carry out this crowdfunding project to help Jhanc Lucas, a 3-year-old boy diagnosed with Leukemia and his family for 90 days while he comes to his first phase of chemotherapy.

About US

We are a private, independent, and non-profit foundation located in Barranquilla, Colombia that offers food, transportation, and lodging to low-income children with cancer and their families in the Caribbean region of Colombia.

The number one cause of death in children with cancer on the Colombian Atlantic Coast is abandonment of treatment. This is generated by the barriers that families face when trying to access cancer treatments.

We seek to eliminate these obstacles and meet the needs of these unprotected populations by providing help to low-income families who come to the city of Barranquilla to submit their children to medical procedures.

About Our Finances

We sustain ourselves through massive events, raffles, condolence bonds and donations from private companies and individuals.

The house where we host the children and their families has capacity for 32 people and receives families from the departments of the Colombian Caribbean Region: La Guajira, Magdalena, Cesár, Atlántico, Sucre, Córdoba and Bolívar 365 days a year.

We also offer other services such as:

1. Follow-up and Action to guarantee the continuity of the treatment,

2. Informative talks on Childhood Cancer.

3. Legal Advice.

4. Psychological Support for Parents and Children, Nutritional and Academic Support

5. Funeral Assistance.

6. Recreation, Urban and Rural Transportation

Crurrent Situation

The COVID-19 crisis is affecting our activities.

Our main annual fundraising event (Caminata de la Luz) had to be canceled as well as other events such as concerts and bingo halls.

That is why we have decided to ask for help through this project in order to continue carrying out our mission.

¿Cómo usaremos los fondos recolectados?

Our goal with the creation of this project is mainly to open the doors to receive Jhanc Lucas and other patients and their families. We need the money to be able to continue paying the expenses of food, lodging and transportation of the house.

To make this happens, we must raise $1184.

So we will be able to continue providing a foster home service to low-income children with cancer and their families, seeking to reduce the numbers of treatment abandonment, through comprehensive support.
