I want to raise money so my friend can walk again

Hi there!

My name is Maria. I live in Ukraine, Odessa. I wrote this message to help a good friend of mine, Vlad, getting on his feet. Literally.

Recently Vlad had an accident and sustained multiple injuries, but the most serious ones for him as a biker are injuries to the meniscus of both knees.

Before the accident, Vlad had been working as a courier in a food delivery service, delivering orders to people from the very beginning of the quarantine imposed for the coronavirus. Currently, he is unable to help either others or himself, so I decided to start raising funds for the surgery he needs - arthroscopy of the meniscus of both legs (sorry, I'm not sure if it's called that way in English).

We need to raise $1,000 for the surgery and $500 for rehabilitation, that lasts at least 8 weeks, which means that Vlad will not be able to work for 2-3 months. The rehabilitation involves taking antibiotics, visiting a surgeon (trauma surgeon), physiotherapist, masseur, and performing the exercise therapy.

Every day Vlad wakes up and falls asleep with hellish pain in his legs. Any move is an ordeal for him. I do my best to help him: I cook and bring him food, take him to the hospital and try to support him financially (as a full-time student, I had to find a part-time job).

I hope to put him out of his misery as soon as possible. I want him to cycle and smile again. He is a good person, and I believe that there will definitely be those who will also want to help him. Thank you!
