Heroe Book Fair 2021

My name is Lorna Likiza, a Kenyan Writer, Tutor of French and Founder of Heroe Book Fair currently based in Nakuru, Kenya, but with an intention of relocating to Nairobi hopefully, sometime next year.

Heroe Book Fair is an event intended to bring together Anglophone and Francophone Writers, Poets, Publishers & Literary Enthusiasts from Africa and the diaspora yearly in a couple of days celebration of their contributions to the literary world. 

The inaugural edition was supposed to happen from July 23rd-July 25th at the Players Theatre, Nakuru, Kenya, under the theme of "Belonging" but the Covid-19 pandemic suddenly struck and I had to move the event to March 22-26, 2021. 

As a result of the health safety guidelines we have to adhere to, the inaugural event will now happen virtually and physically with limited movement at the Alliance Française, Mombasa not Nakuru.

Since I was yet to receive any funding pre-pandemic, I am therefore appealing to you to support me with whatever amount of contributions you have that will enable me to plan effectively for this inaugural virtual event.

The costs I need to cover are for;

-Relevant Graphic Designs

-Any Technical Aspect for the Zoom Panel Discussions and Live Streaming I may need to pay for.

-Any Videography services needed pre and during the event.

-Sanitizers

-Accomodation, Transport and Food

Your contributions will be highly appreciated and will go a very long way in ensuring African and black diaspora Writers and Poets feel very much supported.

Je m'appelle Lorna Likiza, une écrivaine Kenyane, tutrice de Français et fondatrice de la foire du livre, Heroe/Heroe Book Fair (prononcé Heh-Roh-Eh).

Heroe Book Fair est un évènement qui réunit chaque année des écrivains, poètes, éditeurs et passionnés de littérature anglophones et francophones d'Afrique et de la diaspora noire pour célébrer leurs œuvres et réalisations littéraires. L'édition inaugural se tiendra virtuellement et physiquement avec un mouvement limité à l'Alliance Française de Mombasa du 22 au 26 mars 2021.

Le thème est "L'appartenance" donc les conversations lors de l'événement seront centrées sur la race, l'identité et l'ethnicité.

Pour faire de cet événement un succès, Heroe Book Fair a besoin de votre soutien. Aucun montant n'est trop petit et sera très apprécié.
