I am Dawn Marie Caceres a resident of Canetown Negros Occidental. We were not able to celebrate New Year because during our merry making (as this is suppose to be a joyous event) around 12:30am of January 1,2021, we were caught off guard by a flash flood. There was no rain at all but suddenly, water came rushing our streets and into our homes in just a couple of minutes. We were not able to save as much clothing, beddings, electronics and even some important documents as the flash flood happened so fast and it subsided at 9:30am. We spent the following week cleaning 2-3 inches mud left on the floor of our houses, did mountains of dirty laundry and repairing the damages (carpentry) especially doors, beds even electronic damages. We slept on top of the dining table just to get some rest. But half way of our recovery, exactly 7 days after, another flash flood happened (January 8, 2021- 10:30pm- January 9,2021- 8:00am) and this time it was with a very heavy rainfall destroying everything we were trying to rebuild and we will have to start over from zero again. We are very exhausted physically, emotionally and financially. We are knocking on your generous hearts to help us rebuild our lives because we can't do it alone, we need help. Other donations will be shared with our neighbors who were also greatly affected by this disaster.
