I would like to pay running expenses of our literacy project

Hello everyone,

My name is Aini abdul from Indonesia.

I am one of the founders of "Ransel buku" literacy project

I am here to ask for your help to prolong our literacy project which has many benefits for children in Indonesia.

About "Ransel Buku"

"Ransel Buku" (find on Instagram @ransel_buku) is a literacy and education project started in 2008.

The aim of the project is to bring access to quality books and teachers to underprivileged children in remote riverside villages in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo.

Ransel Buku's activities

Since it's starting point until now "Ransel Buku" has been benefitting more than 1000 children.

"Ransel Buku" was able to build the first children-friendly library in the area in 2016 through crowd-funding. At the moment, there are two libraries as well as a floating library boat. We are giving services to 5 villages with approximately 350 children.

In "Ransel Buku", children are encouraged to love books, to learn a lot of new things, to enjoy art, music, culture, as well as to create. Our libraries are operating 6 days a week with librarians who are also certified teachers.

The days are filled with activities, classes as well as just a free safe place for children to be themselves. Kids from these remote places are from economically challenged families, so they don't get to enjoy the privilege of access to books as a part of crucial children's lives.

Please help us to prolong "ransel buku" project

At the moment we are facing a challenge to keep funding the library expenses.

Monthly we are in need of IDR15.000.000 (approximately $1200). The expenses cover salaries for 3 full time librarians, 2 music teachers, a motorist to drive the floating library boat, boat fuel, and maintenance as well as teaching-learning materials.

As i mentioned before, we need approximately $1,200 to keep our "ransel buku" literacy project keep on running, the usage is explained below

We have been appealing to many companies with the Community Empowerment Fund but they rarely grant anything for running expenses. They focus more on a concrete project (i.e building, assets, etc). Which is very difficult for us.

This is why we would like to appeal here to ask for help with the amount of money requested to prolong our project (even) by one month! It means a lot to us to continue this project for the benefit of the children.
