CAMPAIN TO HELP FEED STARVING CHILDREN

Hello everyone,

My name is Mukisa Jackson Scott from Kampala Uganda, a yoga teacher, dancer, community leader and a lover for humanity and community transformation.

The Covid -9 break out has brought about a number of mental, social and financial challenges to people from all walks of life. However, the negative impact has been very substantial for people from marginalized communities/slums of Nsambya Uganda, the Ugandan government imposed a number of restrictions/total ban on very many income generating avenues which directly impacted the people from the slums of my home area NSAMBYA, most of these people live below the poverty line and their survival basically depends on menial labor and hand to mouth income wages.

The intermittent lock downs and closure of most businesses leaves many underprivileged people in my community hopeless and prone to starvation since most families can barely find a meal to eat. In an effort to respond to this challenge, the generous Hand Initiative was established by Mukisa Jackson Scott with an objective of ensuring that no family in the slums of Nsambya goes hungry as we navigate through these unprecedented hard times of the COVID-19 pandemic and lock down in Uganda.

I get to interact with a number of kids and youth from the slums through my yoga and dance community outreach classes, these people share their survival stories and it breaks my heart to see how these families survive on one meal a day ,some going without food, as a result i decided to start this fund raising campaign to raise funds to buy food relief supplies for the underprivileged families in my community.

We identify people and families that are most at risk and reach out to them with a generous hand of kindness and love, these acts of kindness come in form of relief food supplies, and ;other home essentials. we entirely depend on donations from well wishers, and partners in kindness, who could be anyone willing to walk into the footsteps of service, kindness and community support.

This campaign started in July 2021 and for this year we are targeting to raise 1000$ which will facilitate community food drives for five months until the 31st of December 2021, our mission is to feed as many families as possible and together we can implement this mission.
