I want to provide for evacuees of Taal Volcano eruption.

I am Vernice and I am here to seek help for those people that is affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano.

Last Sunday, January 12,2020 Taal Volcano which is in Batangas, Philippines. This Volcano is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines especially when you mention Tagaytay, Philippines as this is where the view of the Volcano can be seen. Taal Volcano is one of the most active Volcano in the country.

Taal Volcano eruption was sudden, and the government agency wasn't able to announce any warning for the locals who's living in the Volcano Island and the towns that is surrounding it. People from Tagaytay City watched plumes of smoke and ash rise from the Volcano. From then on, The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has raised the alert level 4, which means explosive eruption can happen anytime. The highest level is level 5, and it is a possibility that it could happen anytime as the level warning is still in level 4 until now.

The eruption causes an ash fall to the different parts of Batangas and provinces near Batangas like Cavite, (Tagaytay, Mendez, Alfonso, Bailen, Silang, etc.) Laguna and up to major parts of Metro Manila.

People residing at the Island and other towns nearby the Volcano within 14 km radius was pushed to evacuate due to the danger of eruption of the Volcano. As of today, Tuesday January 14, more than 25,000 people has evacuated their homes to seek temporary shelter to the evacuation centers where they can be safer. One of the evacuations centres is at my hometown in Mendez, Cavite. There are total of 380 individuals which 67 are in evacuation area, the rest are being taken by some families in their home especially those with kids and more is coming today.

Since Sunday afternoon, there is no electricity and no water in our place which makes it harder. People who has generators are helping the community for free charging of their mobile phones for communication purposes.

The proceeds of your donations will be for the food, (breakfast, lunch and dinner) basic necessities, (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, underwear, etc.) and gas/diesel for the generators as they need support from the time being and we still don't know until when they will need the help. They can only go back to their homes when it is declared to level 1.

As much as your donations are appreciated, I will also ask for a little prayer for everyone's safety and that the situation will not be worsen, may the Volcano calm down so that the people and towns can start restoring the damages it is causing.
