Help Alicia to buy a wheelchair she needs

My name is Angélica Munive, I live in Mexico City and I have a license in Voice, Hearing and Oral and Written Language Therapy.

Alicia is a poor girl from Tochimilco Puebla, she is 20 years old and is in the seventh semester of the degree in business administration. He likes to meet his goals and put challenges in life!

I met Alicia through one of my aunts, Alicia was a student in high school where my aunt is a principal and when she was told that she had to get 60 thousand pesos for her wheelchair.

How Alicia gets disability

When she turned to one year old, she had heart surgery and as a result of that intervention she remained immobile from the waist down. It never gave them a logical response to immobility and from that age she began using orthopedic devices and Canadian crutches. At age 11 she began to use a wheelchair due to an injury to the brace.

At her last medical appointment (with a general doctor) she was told, "Your problem is complicated and you need surgery to reduce your hip pain."

Alicia got discounts for a wheelchair, but still could not afford it.

Given her vulnerable situation, I tried to find another medical opinion and got the low-cost assessment by a Rehabilitation Physician who has indicated urgent service of the orthopedic section and a change of wheelchair. So we visited an OP (Orthopedic Physicians) who has help her to get her brace better and did not charge her!

He gave us free assessment with the biomedical engineer, and a super discount for the custom-made wheelchair in the color Alicia likes, practically up to 50% off the normal price .

The final price they offer to us for the wheelchair is PHP 42,076.68 or $850 USD, while the normal price is around 75-80 thousand pesos or $1,500 - 1,600 USD. So, here we are raising funds only for the wheelchair.

This is why we need your help, so Alicia can continue her study and meet the goals she set.
