A dream about travelling Japan

I want to experience Japan for real!

Hello! Nice to meet you. I'm Anwesh Pati from India. I've always dreamt of going to Japan for a long time.

I want to live in Japan someday in the future. But before that, I feel the need to experience that wonderful country in person and learn more about the daily life, culture and social behavior of the people. I've only experienced Japan behind an electronic screen, so I still have a lot to learn.

I've had a special attachment to Japan since childhood. I really love Japanese entertainment and culture in such a high level that I can feel Japan like my second hometown.

The reason why I became to love Japan

My first contact with Japan came through the Japanese language, during primary school days. Usually electronic products, toys, etc have multiple languages written in the instructions. I was fascinated by the Japanese writing system and I copied the scripts for fun.

I got more closer to Japan when I came across Japanese anime. My first anime was Digimon and I was mesmerized by the Japanese theme songs. But one series that touched my heart was Crayon Shin-chan. It was so closely related to my life that I wondered, is the lifestyle in Japan similar to that of my country?

Later on, I took interest in Japanese dramas and I have also been a fan of Japanese music, especially Jpop.

All these factors lead me to read and learn more about the country. The more I knew about Japan, the more I liked it.

Since I knew Airtripp

I was searching for an application on the Play Store that would enable me to make friends from Japan, back in 2015. I came across Airtripp and saw that the developer was from Japan. I thought, this app must be having quite many Japanese users, and I wasn't disappointed! I was successfully able to make good friends from Japan at that time.

But most of my friends gradually disappeared from social media. If I could go to Japan at that time, I could have strengthened or at least maintained our friendships.

This would be my first ever visit to Japan, but I don't want to restrict myself to just one or two cities. I would like to utilize this once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Nara and Kobe. My friends from Japan are also in or around these areas so I can meet them in person for real. I would be visiting Japan not just as a tourist but also as a researcher trying to know more about Japanese culture, living and immerse myself with the environment.

Getting closer to Japan

I'm preparing myself to be able to travel and subsequently live in Japan, as much as possible. I have acquired the N3 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and planning to achieve the highest level by next year. I am using different websites to gain more knowledge about Japan and tour it virtually. I have known many things till now, but there is still a lot to learn. A complete knowledge about a country is not possible without even visiting it once.

Details on needed amount

I'm working as software analyst since November 2017 for an income of $250 per month. Given the huge difference in cost of living in India and Japan, it's very difficult for me to afford a trip to Japan on my own. I was surprised to find out that the lunch that I have for $1 per day can cost $10 in Japan.

I want to use this crowdfunding opportunity to bridge that huge gap of income and expenditure between the two countries. I believe everyone should be able to travel, irrespective of their nationality or financial background. I hope to receive at least $2200 as support as this trip can cost me well above $2700.

I want to go to Japan when I reach the target price. I would at least like to be able to visit Japan a few months before the 2020 Olympics begin. Japan is really preparing itself for that grand event and I wish to experience the hard work and determination of the Japanese as well as the extra efforts of the locals to get along with people from various countries.
