I want to help my mum to get out of this dangerous neighbourhood!

Nice to meet you! My name is Marina Njeri and I live in Nairobi, Kenya.

I would like to raise some funds for my mum so she can work as a vendor and have a better future.

Life became difficult when my dad passed away

My dad died at the end of 2017 because of cancer.

Since then I've been living with my mum but things have been really hard.

As she hasn't got a job I would like to help her to set up a business that could allow her and me moving to a safer house.

I'm providing for both of us

Currently I'm working as a cleaner but I just get $20 a month.

My mum is not workin so I'm trying to pay all our daily expenses. In order to make her life better I would like to purchase material for her so she can work by selling snacks and drinks on the road.

The idea is to sell sweets, biscuits, ground nuts, cakes, sodas and water on the streets.

Being street vendor it is not necessary to rent an actual place so it doesn't require a high cost. In case sales are good it would be nice to have a proper shop in the future!

Our house is falling apart

We are living in a very unsafe place.

The roof is broken it has many leaks during rainy days. Also, there are many thieves and is really scary for 2 women living alone. We want to leave this place as soon as possible but our financial situation doesn't allow us to do it.

We don't have any relative or friend that could support us either.

Details on needed funds

In order to start up the business and fix the top covering sheets I would like to raise $450 and I would really appreciate any little support this project could receive.

Schedule

If I receive enough support I purchase all the products my mum would need to start the business.

We would like to move as soon as possible so we will do our best effort to be able to!

I hope that my mum business success so she can start getting benefits, improving the business little by little and changing her life.
