I want to participate in a volunteer camp in Kumamoto, Japan!

Hello all! My name is Dmitri and I'm from Zhaksy, Kazakhstan!

I would like to participate in a volunteer camp held in Minamata, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

I would like to collaborate as a volunteer

The volunteer camp I want to join is in a city named Minamata.

There, an organization is holding a volunteer camp every year, and I would like to join them on March of next year.

Kumamoto Prefecture is a place that has suffered a lot since many years ago due to natural and environmental disasters. I would like to help restore the forest and help locals with the harvest.

I'm a carpenter, and I know I can be a great help. But the problem is that I can't make enough savings to afford this dream.

I really admire how Japanese people help each other

I like Japan since many years ago. I remember to hearing about the earthquake in the northeast part of Japan in 2011.

I was very worried about all the injured people, but I also could see how Japanese people were helping each other to recover and I've was really impressed by that. Since then I became interested in Japanese History and culture.

I would really loved to volunteer that time, but I couldn't.

A few years later I investigated about an environmental disaster that happened in Minamata, Kumamoto Prefecture. Around 40 years ago there was a pollution disease named Minamata disease, and since then the city has been doing a huge effort to become a green city concerned about environment.

Then, I found the volunteer camp I want to join next year.

I love Japan!

I started to used Airtripp to find Japanese friends!

Thanks to that I have been able to learn a lot about the country and its culture. Especially, I love Japan's festivals and the cherry blossom.

I'm studying a little Japanese, but it's really hard! I can speak also a little English.

Details on needed funds

With my own savings and another $770 I will be able to make my dream come true!

Schedule

If I receive enough funds I will join the volunteer camp next year on March. I would like to stay there a very long time, but to start, I will go with a tourist visa!

In the future I would like to keep collaborating with different volunteering programs, as I'm really concern with natural enviroment. Thank you in advance for your help!
