Our Lady of Lourdes School's Fire Disaster (a call for help)

Hello everyone,

My name is Rev. Fr. Egwom Donald, I am the priest in charge of Our Lady Of Lourdes Parish Imezi-Owa, Catholic Diocese of Enugu, Enugu, Nigeria, West Africa.

We as a Church and non profitable organization have contributed in nation building in our own little way from our immediate community.

1. We support government in providing education at the kindergarten, primary and secondary school level.

2. We offer free education to children from poor homes.

3. We provide free transportation to children who come to school from distant villages.

4. We also intend to feed in the future those in the kindergarten, in addition to providing free education.

In doing this, we have helped create a better foundation for disadvantaged children and also helped to break the cycle of poverty. This we have being doing for the past nineteen (19) years with the help from local church members.

A fire incident occurred in our school on the 30th of December 2021

Unfortunately for us a fire incident occurred in our school on the 30th of December 2021, the fire outbreak destroyed the entire school administrative building; this include; the school library, principal's office, vice principal's office, the bursary section, boardroom and working tools room. The amount of losses is unimaginable.

Help us to rebuild the losses

We as a local church have been doing our best to try and rebuild our losses but then we are limited by our little resources.

The rebuilding of the administrative building is estimated at $15,000

The equipping of the library and other materials is estimated at $5,000

This project is going to help the improvement of education for the communities of Imezi-Owa, and we need a lot of support to make this dream come true.
