Funds for the surgery of my friend, who has a congenital malformation.

Nice to meet you! My name is Diệu and I'm from Biên Hòa, Vietnam. I'm running this project with the purpose of helping a friend who is suffering.

My friend has congenital malformations and cleft palate since birth and the only way to fix those malformations is surgery.

About my friend

Her name is Nguyen Thi Linh.

We met 7 years ago when we were in middle school. She moved from her village to my city and we started to study together. Due to her malformations she was bullied and insulted by our classmates very frequently. I started to talk with her and we became close friends

She is a very nice and kind person, but her self esteem is pretty damaged. She is friendly, gentle and her dream is to find a good job to be able to support her family.

She's all the time trying to find a job but she is always rejected. She has been hurt so many times that she's even thinking to commit suicide.

Her family can't afford the surgery

My friend comes from a farmer family.

Their monthly income is so low that she couldn't study in University. For them, to pay the surgery of their daughter is impossible.

What I want to do is collect all necessary funds so my friend can take that surgery and stop suffering.

If she can get a facial surgery she people will stop bullying her and she will be able to have a normal life.

Searching around for help

I don't have a job as I'm university student, so I can't contribute with a huge amout of savings.

However I will try to talk with my classmates, family, friends, any person I know and ask them for help too.

Every little help means a lot for me and my friend. Any little help will allow my friend to be closer to a normal life.

Details on needed funds

Nguyen Thi Linh needs $1,900 for the surgery and treatment. From that amount I ask you to collaborate with us to raise $1,000. I will try to get the other $900 from close people!

Schedule

As soon as I collect the funds I will give them to my friend, so she can receive the surgery. After the surgery she will need to rest until her recovering, that could take a few weeks.

If I can't reach the target I will have to wait until graduate, get a job and save some money for my friend, but I don't know if she would be able to stand that long. Thank you very much for reading my friend's story!
