FUNDING FOR DIALYSIS

Dear all,

I'm Mariam Slamdien. I am here for my husband, Adnaan Adams, a 48 years old father to my 4 (four) daughters and my rock. We live in Cape Town South Africa

My husband was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure in October 2019. The government hospitals refused to give him dialysis because of his overall condition and age. I was told to take him home and make him comfortable as he only has 6 months to live.

We won't give up hope

I went to a private Dialysis Centre so that he started the dialysis on 8 October 2019. His treatments are going well, but we rely on sponsors as we cannot afford of on our own. The cost is R10,000.00 or $570 USD a month!

Please help us sustain the dialysis

My husband has been boarded by the state as permanently disabled and can not work. I look after him full time and I am not employed. And since we have 4 daughters, we basically have very little to spend of food and fuel, as my husband's disability grant is also used towards his treatment.

The medical aid only kicks in February 2021, so we need help until the mandatory 12 month waiting period is over. At this stage, the medical aid will pay for his dialysis and ultimately also a kidney transplant.

Our priority is getting him his treatment because if he stops dialysis now, death is imminent within 1-2 weeks. Please help me keep him alive.
