Funds to Create Jobs in Our Community

Hello everyone,

My name is Clint Achondo. I work in a call center located in Naga City, in the province of Camarines Sur, southern part of Luzon, Philippines. In my work there is no security of tenure because we are required to maintain metrics. For example, since our client is a telecommunications company in Canada, we are required to make sure that: 1. members do not cancel their services, 2. we sell new phones, internet and tv services to existing members, 3. Maintain our adjustments or the credits we provide to members.

While I work, I am always worried that what if I cannot maintain my metrics anymore? How will I support my family? How will I save for my retirement? Some of us have already resigned. Some were terminated because they were not able to maintain their metrics. Most of us have families.

I always dreamed of having my own business so that I won’t have to work in a call center but instead provide employment to my community where my employees will have security of tenure. They won’t have to worry about any metrics if they do their work properly their families can have comfortable lives. The employees will not worry also about their retirement because I will make sure that when they retire, they will have a large amount of money they can use to fund their retirement lifestyles.

Naga City is a beautiful place. It is not called a pilgrim city for no reason. Lots of tourists visit our city and province because we have lots of beautiful sites. I worked in Saudi Arabia for 6 years and I always wanted to come home and stay here for the rest of my life. There’s no place like home.

I want to solve the problem of lack of employment and lack of long-term jobs by creating a business that will provide these employments to our community. With my business, employees are guaranteed with long-term employment and retirement benefits.

I need $2,000 (Php 117,000) as start-up capital and revolving fund. This amount is enough to put up a grocery business that can guarantee customers can get the lowest price as much as possible. Thereby assuring that customers become loyal to the business.

I do believe that time is gold. Therefore, I want to start the grocery business as soon as possible or within 6 months.

I am going to use the $2,000 as revolving fund for the first few months. I will start the business as a delivery service like Food Panda taking advantage of e-commerce. When a customer places an order I am going to purchase grocery from the cheapest supplier and add a percentage as markup and collect delivery fee as practiced by food delivery services and deliver the orders to houses.

I will be doing this for a few months until the business reached 1,000 customer base. Then, I will establish a physical store to cater to more customers.

I will never touch the fund until it grows to a large amount that can support expansions. Donors can become shareholders if they choose through the money they donated. They will receive dividends every year. Employees will also have the opportunity to purchase shares from the business as part of their retirement benefit.
