Let's overcome the consequences of a stroke together

Hello. My name is Vladimir Skrypka, I am 31 years old, I am a rehabilitologist. Since 2015 I have been working in the State Clinical Hospital at Kremenchug city, Ukraine.

Most of my patients are people who have suffered a stroke and have lost the function of walking and therefore cannot fully live and enjoy life, since a stroke is an acute violation of the blood supply to the brain. The consequences of a stroke are paralysis or even death.

Without exception, all patients who came to our hospital are managed to help in one way or another, return the functions of walking, the work of the fingers, etc. But about 40% of stroke survivors do not have the opportunity to go to hospital for rehabilitation, and remain paralyzed and bedridden until the end of their life. This fact prompted me to create a project within the framework of which I could help people who were left alone with this terrible disease and could not leave the walls of their house for free.

So in December 2019 there were the first “home” patients and the first difficulties. People who need my help live in different areas of the city, and since the city of Kremenchug has an area of 96 square kilometers and a population of more than 220,000 people, it is impossible to travel all around for several hours after the main work, by public transport.

My project would save at least some kind of car. Prices for cars in our region start at $1,500 - this is the cost of an old car of the 80s, but it’s enough for work.

Unfortunately, my salary is not enough for a car, so I appeal to you because I believe that your contribution will help me become more mobile, and as a result reach more patients whose number is only increasing.
