Andres Gaitan 
Hello there,
I am Andres Gaitan, a 34-year-old medical anesthesiologist. I live in Guatemala City. I work in a public hospital, Instituto Guatemalteco de Seguridad Social.
The high risk in treating COVID-19 patients
Anaesthesiologists and other perioperative care providers are particularly at risk when providing respiratory care and tracheal intubation of patients with COVID-19.
We are fourty anaesthesiologists providing our services to a public hospital in Guatemala. Given the precariousness of the public health system, we are somewhat forced to work without the necessary equipment (i.e face-shields, masks, coveralls).
Help us save lives
I start this project due to the lack of protective equipment for doctors. With the funds raised, I will buy N95 masks, protective glasses, protective suits, shields, so we can be safe and fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
