Food for people on the street

Homeless and homeless people experience many difficulties in their day to day,especially in this state of covid-19 problems.

I am here as the representative of the Manuel Freire Foundation, we have the mission of helping the adult population in the street situation in Guayaquil - Ecuador to improve their quality of life through integral human development.

Manuel Freire Foundation we have the mission of helping the adult population in the street situation in Guayaquil - Ecuador to improve their quality of life through integral human development.

in the quarantine period, the homeless have much more limited sources of food and support for their basic services. If the period of quarantine caused by Covid19 is a challenge for the population to be generated, for people on the street their condition becomes even more vulnerable

Manuel Freire Foundation are fully committed to helping all people who need us, but our resource capacities are not enough

Support's plan

We are currently helping them by providing personalized attention services. We have a headquarters that has the minimum and adequate infrastructure to provide this personalized attention service to adults on the street.

- We provide night accommodation as an alternative of security and protection to adults in street situations. We currently have a 24-hour service to support the “stay at home” campaign due to the health emergency that the country is experiencing.

- We provide healthy food service to adults on the street to improve their nutritional levels. Due to the health emergency situation that we are experiencing, we are providing this service as follows:

• Internal Beneficiaries: They are receiving food service 3 times a day (breakfast - lunches and snacks).

• External Beneficiaries: They are receiving the food service only once (lunch)

- We provide personal hygiene - hygiene and protection services, contributing to the hygiene of adults in street situations, like other services, this was expanded due to the issue of health emergencies.

• Internal Beneficiaries: They are receiving personal hygiene service - hygiene and permanent protection.

• External Beneficiaries: They are receiving personal hygiene - hygiene and protection service twice a week (Monday - Friday)

- We provide laundry service for adults in street situations (currently this service is being provided only for internal beneficiaries)

- We provide spaces and moments of leisure and recreation every Saturday and Sunday of each month, this in order for the beneficiary to have a space to share, meet, recreate, play sports and interact with people who motivate them to keep going and nourish themselves with moments different. (This service is suspended due to the health emergency), once everything normalizes, these activities that are of great value and importance to everyone will begin to resume.

- We campaign to get donations of clothing and supplies for adults on the street, thus contributing to the improvement of their personal presentation and self-esteem.

We need your support to able provide a continuous support to those in need

The budget is designed to contemplate the following expenses:

• expenses for rent

• Basic service expenses

• Staff expenses

• Marketing expenses.

• Food expenses

• Personal hygiene service costs.

• Laundry service expenses

• Medical service expenses (in cases of emergencies and viral illnesses).

• Transportation expenses

• Recreation and leisure expenses.

It should be noted that the budget includes a small fund of its own to face the first of 2020, and continue to search for co-financing mechanisms for the continuity of activities, services and programs, according to the axes set forth for that year, and to achieve the objectives of the Manuel Freire Foundation
