Manila COVID 19 Lockdown: Support for the Daily Wage Earners

The lockdown affected lots of daily wage earners

On March 15, 2020, the Philippine Government imposed a Luzon wide lockdown due to COVID-19. This has stopped all normal forms of living, including thousands of small to medium enterprises forced to stop their daily operations.

One of those that are most affected, which gets little attention these days, are the daily wage earners who are unprecedentedly displaced by these unfortunate circumstances.

This fund raiser hopes to support displaced daily wage earners by providing means for their sustenance. I am working on this project independently, to be able to provide support to 206 of our on call waiters, on call kitchen staff and on call cooks, as a means for them to be able to tide through the island wide lockdown due to COVID-19.

Plan

With the support of the catering company I am employed under, we will be distributing donations through Cebuana / “Pera Padala” enters to our affected daily wage earners, hopefully to help them tide through the quarantine.

I am writing this in the comfort of my home, and while I have something to give, I have very little compared to what is needed.
