Indigenous Villages affected by COVID 19 pandemic

Hello everyone! My name is Jade D. Angngalao, I’m from Philippines.

Sitio Dalimmugao in Kalinga Province and Sitio Bubog in Apayao province is home for the indigenous elderly. The population consists of 60 % elderly and suffering from rheumatic diseases and high blood pressure. The remote location which is 3 hours trek to reach the Sitio's is quite difficult for the relief operation to bring the small grocery items to the area, and it often reaches the beneficiary because of the lockdown.

The tribal communities still have these practices such as taking care of respective relatives and neighbours during hard times but this crisis extends longer to the extent that all families really run out of their rice supplies.

Our goal is to knock on your door for a small number of donations to help these unserved communities and ease their burden in a small way. The money will be used to buy groceries and medicines for the elderly.

Any money raised will go to buy and deliver groceries for the vulnerable people in the two selected villages, so they do not need to further expose themselves to any risk from COVID, and to ease their burden in these difficult times. I have seen poverty and how they cope with every day in their daily basic needs. The villages are 3-hour trek from the nearest road, but full of the warmest hearted people imaginable.

We partnered with the tribal leader to distribute relief operations after the government lifts the lockdown.

A small amount can save the lives of many indigenous peoples.
