Let's give milk for babies and old people

Hello everyone!

My name is Jordan Velgado, but my family and very close friends call me “PONG”. I am 37 years old, and have been teaching "internationally" in Macau for almost eleven years now. 100% Filipino and who explores the many wonders of my country every time I get the opportunity!

I do not work for any Non-Government Organization, but helping has been my utmost passion. I was raised and taught by my mother how to take care and give to the least of our brothers. That’s why, I help my countrymen now that I am able, whenever and in whatever I could.

The ECQ has been extended

“I thought at first that I was the most unlucky person in the world for getting stuck in my community during the era of the Covid19 and not being able to come back just in time for the school resumption. Then later I realized that I was left where I am right now, to make a difference in the lives of the people in my community.”

My family members have been my strongest supporters. My two sisters who are living with me who do the repacking of goods that we give away and prepare food for everyone, my nephew who helps me with the transportation of goods from one place to another. My sister’s family who does all the other stuff… including the note that we always put in anything that we give with a message “Just hold on to Him, This too shall pass in God’s Grace!”

I live in a poor area of Marilao Bulacan

I live in a very impoverished area in Marilao Bulacan, Philippines – Lambakin. Most of the people living in my community are really poor. Already having difficulty making both ends meet on an ordinary day, but are finding most difficult to do the same in this time of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

A lot of the infants and children here are no longer drinking milk (which they should to boost their immune system) because of the situation, their parents just mix water with sugar just so their children could stop crying.

I have done a lot of feeding programs in my “professional teaching” life as my friends in Macau ask me to bring them to communities here back home for them to be able to do an outreach program. However, I never brought them to my local community and bring them to other places where help is also needed as I don’t want them to think that I’m favoring the area where I live.

But during this unprecedented times, I feel blessed to live among these people. That I have opportunities to help them.

Help us to provide milk for children

Our milk package will normally cost us around 5-6 USD/per child. As we would like to buy a decent size sufficient for one child to have enough for a week to enjoy. This is also to buy their parents time for them to find a way to resolve their situation at the time being.

We will also give diapers, food packs containing rice grains, vegetables (hopefully not too expensive), and maybe some eggs.

Your donation will definitely remove infants and children from starvation and from malnutrition. I would like to appeal to everyone if they would like to share their extras once again, in preparation for a relief operation next week or the week after. Please help!
