Single Mother / Struggling Musician

Hello everyone,

My name is Carri-Anne Parker I am 44 years old, a single mother of 2 children. I reside on the South Coast of Kwazulu- Natal, South Africa. I have been singing since the age of 10 years old and was trained by Irene Frangs. I toured the country with various bands. I had beautiful sound equipment but sold it 6 years ago when me, my children and my ex husband immigrated to New Zealand. We sold everything we owned in South Africa.

Before immigrating to New Zealand, I found out that my husband (now ex) had an affair with a young girl, 26 years his junior. I forgave him as it was 2 weeks until immigration. Thinking he would leave her behind and start fresh, that never happened. He stayed in contact with her and then decided to move back to South Africa to start a life with her, leaving me and my children in New Zealand to fend for ourselves. Having no choice but to come back to South Africa with only a suitcase of clothes, no home, no car, no job...nothing. My children and I moved in with my parents. It has been 6 years since this ordeal and it's been a financial struggle, still not owning anything. I am passionate about my music and want to pursue it, God has given me a talent and its wasting away because I can't do gigs, because I don't have music equipment. I have been getting a lot of enquiries to perform at venues but because I have to hire a sound engineer its pushing my rates up in turn not getting gigs.

The price of good equipment would be approximately R50,000. (speakers, speaker stands, mic stand, file stand, cables, effects unit, mixer and cordless mic)

I don't need the equipment by a certain date but I would like it as soon as its possible so I can pursue my career.
