Salam, Hello Everyone! Thank you for reading this project.
My name is Nazrul from Malaysia.
Since 2010, I've started a community project of growing organic vegetables in a 3 acre land in the state of Perak, Malaysia. It is purely a labor of love project without any emphasis on profit. It is known as Qadhijah Natural Farm (QNF).
The vegetables we grown at QNF are taken to various markets and events where it is on "take only as much as you need and pay as you please" basis.
Some vegetables are also distributed for free to charitable organizations in nearby area.
Not only growing organic vegetables in our farms, we also share our knowledge to others.
I regularly conduct free gardening classes to children and organizations where I would share them the knowledge of making their own organic fertilizers just by recycling kitchen waste.
This is my passion, my labor of love, my small effort for the community, my tiny contribution to nature and my small gift for the children.
My problem started during March 2019 when we have extremely hot weather for 3 months straight. Most of the plants just could not cope with the heat and I lost 80% of my harvest. I thought that the worse is over when the wet season started in June 2019 and use up most of my savings to retreat the soil and replant everything that's lost.
However, the worst happen. In mid July, just as I about to harvest, I was hit with water contamination from the canal where I use to water the plants. This time every single plant was wipe out completely.
The water bring an unknown chemical, and not only destroyed vegetables, they also destroyed the land. The vegetable seeds cannot sprout. Our farm land also polluted and need to be treat again from the start.
To able to make my farmland comeback to normal again, i need to retreat my farmland from start, and i need also to replant everything since most of our corp are wipeout. i expect need about RM8500 (about $2,050) to rebuild QNF. the explanation of the usage is explained below
I really love my job at QNF, it is my passion. And QNF was made is not only for my benefit, i used all of my saving from the 1st crop failure that happen this summer because of the extremely dry season.
I need to retreat my farmland again from the start after this 2nd crop failure cause of chemical contamination from the water canal.
I have no more funds to continue the project and I fear if I can't sustain in the next few weeks, I may have to abandon the project.
Please help me save Qadhijah Natural Farm. Any of your support, will be very meaningful for QNF. May God Bless any Kindhearted!
