My name is Hyunbae, a 19-year-old who has been doing the Lord's wonderful work among migrant workers in the United Arab Emirates for the past year.

Migrant workers in the UAE come from countries in Africa and East Asia and live under extremely difficult and dangerous conditions. The workers are hired by a large companies, like construction companies, and they work long hours and get little sleep and comfort. I know several taxi drivers employed by taxi companies that have had to work for 20 hours a day for the past 3 years, sleeping 3 hours only daily, with bloodshot eyes.

Their company-provided living quarters are cramped with up to 20 people living in small university-dorm-sized rooms with bunk beds stacked 3 or 4 stories upon one another. Do not be mistaken that migrant workers live a prosperous life because they work in the UAE, a country with abundant natural resources and wealth and great cities like Dubai. They face rampant injustice from their employers who abuse them and often withhold or cut their paycheck, giving them a fraction of the paycheck that was promised when they signed up to come to the UAE to work. The legal system in the UAE also favors employers who are often locals and have good connections with the government. Because most of the workers have families back home, they need to send back as much of their little salaries as possible. I've met workers who starve themselves for days so they can cut their food costs so can fund their children's education, or their mother's knee surgery, and provide for them back home. These workers will most likely never see their families again because of the expensive travel costs to go back home. Most importantly, the vast majority of the workers are unreached people groups, who have never heard the good news of Jesus Christ.

I am a member of an evangelical church in the UAE and within our church, we have a Migrant Workers Ministry. It consists of 2 full-time Bible-educated and elder-discipled ministers from Pakistan who visit over 60 migrant worker camps and residential areas in the UAE. We are a full-time ministry, visiting worker camps 6 days a week. We have a long-lasting connection to workers in each camp so we understand fully their needs. When we visit, we bring with us some food that we have either raised from our generous church members or by ourselves. Most importantly, we share the everlasting hope and lavish love that is found in the Gospel and the Person of Christ Jesus, the Lamb who washes away the sins of those who trust in Him and the One who we can always trust and depend on.

Through our ministry, hundreds of migrant workers have met and received Christ and are now born-again believers. In each camp, we establish a small group that meets daily to disciple, evangelize, and strengthen the faith of the workers in the camps. By the grace of our Lord, we have seen the numbers of those receiving Christ and coming to the small group worship, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship meetings, increase abundantly.

Jesus has said that "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few." (Matthew 9:37)

By His grace, our ministry always has work to do, the migrant workers are increasing in their faith and also being baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are currently short-staffed and we would like more full-time ministers or interns so we can reach more camps that are unreached and have never heard the gospel yet.

First and foremost, we need your prayers. We trust in God alone to provide for our needs through those who give generously and sacrificially. Please pray that the Lord move in the hearts of believers to be filled with joy as they are led to give to fulfill the Great Commission. Please pray that our ministry is protected from external forces and that we continue to glorify and do the will of our Father in heaven.

If you feel led to give, we thank you in the name of Jesus.

Here is how our ministry is structured and what we need funds for:

1. Food for the laborers. The believers at the camp are NOT dependent on our food. It is only during several critical times in a year when we give food that they either lost their jobs due to COVID or their employer is refusing to pay them. The workers are hardworking and do not like to accept donations. We only provide for them when they absolutely do not have any other ways of provision and will starve to death if not helped.

2. Operational Expenses: Petrol for our cars (We often drive 100s of miles every day to reach camps all over the UAE in different cities). Truck maintenance (Sometimes we distribute food to the masses to believers in need with our truck which has to be maintained). Phone bills (We are always on the phone, coordinating with small group leaders in the camps, receiving prayer requests and updates, and coordinating times to meet)

Our ministers are provided by the church salary thus 100% of your donations will go into saving souls for Christ.

I personally am a business student at a university in the UAE and I give 100% of my internship and work income to support our ministry. But we always need more funds and this is where you can help us build God's Kingdom in the labor camps. The workers who have received Christ can then witness to their families back home, and their families can witness to their neighbors, creating a ripple effect of Christ's Gospel being spread to the multitudes of nations with our humble efforts.

I am hesitant to share more identifying details of our ministry due to the nature of our work in a predominantly non-Christian country, however, I'd be happy to share more details on an individual basis if you email me at

Thank you all for your prayers, sharing, and giving. May Christ be forever magnified by our efforts and giving. God bless you
